A lifetime of learning

  During my phone discussion with my partner Pardeep, we explored current trends in our respective fields and in adult education more broadly. In my field, we discussed how the cost of inverter welding machines is decreasing, making advanced tools more accessible. Additionally, access to instructional content through platforms like YouTube is transforming informal learning, while robotic welding is emerging as a significant technological advancement. Pardeep shared trends in her field of Human Resources, highlighting the growing prevalence of hybrid and remote learning models for employee training and professional development. We also touched on broader trends in adult education, such as the rise of microlearning and microcredentials, with platforms like Coursera and Udemy offering flexible, targeted learning opportunities. These trends reflect a shift towards more accessible, technology-driven, and personalized learning experiences across fields.
